Tammy Ryan's plays have been performed, commissioned and developed across the United States and internationally. She is the inaugural recipient of "The Boost" awarded by the Leah Ryan Fund to write a new play entitled Tutankhamun Or The Last Pharaoh in Queens, slated to be read in the spring of 2025. Her plays include: Seven Cousins For A Horse (Thrown Stone Theater) Take My Hand And Wave Goodbye (Arkansas New Play Festival) The Wake (Premiere StagesTar Beach (Luna Stage), Molly’s Hammer (Repertory Theater of St. Louis),  Baby's Blues (NCPA, Mumbai), Soldier's Heart (Pittsburgh Playhouse), and Pig (29th Street Rep)  Honors include the ATCA's Francesca Primus Prize for her play Lost Boy Found in Whole Foods and AATE's Distinguished New Play Award for The Music Lesson.  Her work has been supported by the National New Play Network, New Harmony Project, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Sewanee Writers Conference, The Heinz Endowments, The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.  Her plays are available from Dramatists Play Service, Broadway Play Publishing, Dramatic Publishing and Playscripts.
