Jordan Seavey (he/him/they/them) is a playwright, theater-maker and screenwriter from Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. Plays include The Seven Year Disappear, Stephen Miller of Santa Monica, Homos, or Everyone in America (OBIE Award for Michael Urie; NYTimes Critic’s Pick; NYMagazine’s 10 Best Theater Events of 2016), Wight, November 4th 2008, The Funny Pain, The Truth Will Out, Children at Play, 6969 and This is a Newspaper. From 2003-2020, Jordan co-created over 15 new devised theater works with theater company CollaborationTown and director Lee Sunday Evans, including Riddle of the Trilobites (New Victory Theater), Candy (LCT3 / Lincoln Center commission), Family Play (1979 to Present) (New Ohio Theater; The Advocate’s 10 Best LGBTQ Plays of 2014), and The Momentum (2012 GLAAD National Media Award nomination). Past residencies include MacDowell, Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center, and the Edward F. Albee Foundation. An alum of The Public Theater’s Emerging Writer’s Group, the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, and Primary Stages’ American Writers Group, Jordan is also a ‘Usual Suspect’ at New York Theater Workshop.
