Colette Pitts is a writer, director, performer, and full-time student pursuing a B.F.A. in Drama at NYU Tisch Class Of 2026. She received her acting training from both the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and Playwrights Horizons Theater School. Additionally, she composes music with her fantastic collaborators, performs at Smalls Jazz Club’s jam sessions, and is working towards completing her first play and poetry book. Since being at school, she has performed in this is where i knew you best (Playwrights Horizons), Three Musketeers; Not Even Close To An Adaption (Stella Adler), and Everybody’s Girl (IRT Theater). In February 2025, she will return to IRT Theater (off-off-Broadway) for her directorial debut for HEAT written by Makaio Toft. In her free time, she is a passionate mental health advocate and has written articles and blog posts for Off-The-ChARTS; a non-profit dedicated to young artists pursuing their creative aspirations academically and professionally by providing access to mentorship, community, and resources. She is ecstatic to be contributing to such a fantastic community such as New Dramatists and is grateful for those who have supported her along the way.
