Now Accepting Applications for the Van Lier Playwriting Fellowship

New Dramatists is now accepting applications for the 2011-2012 Van Lier Playwriting Fellowship Program. The 18-month program was established to help young, economically disadvantaged playwrights living in New York City develop their talent and become involved in the professional theatre community. Three 18-month fellowships of $10,000 ($5,000 a year) will be awarded to playwrights 30 years old or younger who are not enrolled in college or graduate school.  Read More

Helen Merrill Playwriting Award Winners Include Dan LeFranc

This is the 11th year of the award, which was established by the late Helen Merrill, a theatrical agent, to continue her lifelong encouragement of playwrights. The 2011 Emerging Playwright Award winners are Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Dorothy Fortenberry, Dan LeFranc, and Radha Blank.  Read More
