We encourage emerging playwrights to apply at the beginning of their careers so that through the New Dramatists Fellowship, they can develop their work as well as benefit from being a part of a unique, diverse, dynamic community of professional playwrights.

We recognize Mr. Lane's singular presence as a Broadway giant, a gifted storyteller with a dazzling sense of showmanship, and a true man of the theatre.  In the company of valued colleagues and friends who bring plays to life each season, this festive afternoon is an opportunity to celebrate Mr. Lane, revel in the mutual respect and good will at the center of the theatrical community and support the generative artists who create the plays he gives voice to.   Read More
