We are delighted to announce that the 2018-2019 Princess Grace Fellow in Playwriting has been awarded to Vichet Chum for his play, Bald Sisters, about Cambodian-American sisters with differing experiences of their mother's death and their family's flight from the Khmer Rouge. Vichet will be in residence at New Dramatists throughout the upcoming season, and Bald Sisters will be available to read in the Michaela O'Harra Library. Vichet Chum is a writer, actor, director & theater maker, originally from Dallas, Texas, now living in New York City. His plays have been workshopped at the New Harmony Project, Second Generation Productions, Weston Playhouse, Florida State University, Cleveland Public Theatre, All For One Theater and Amios. Most recently, his play, KNYUM, had its world premiere at Merrimack Repertory Theatre (January 2018) where he also serves as an Associate Artist.
