Our story centers on Dee Amaro, a young woman from Detroit, who dreams big and falls hard. She's determined to beat America's game of ambition, fame, and residual riches. Love, death, and the cosmos, however, complicate her ability to find her true path to success. Ibsen's play Peer Gynt was one inspiration for the musical and our fabulist adulation of pop stars is another.

This reading is part of a 29-hour intensive workshop supported by The Frederick Loewe Musical Theatre Initiative to foster music-theatre development at New Dramatists.
