Who are the Playwrights?

 
Each resident playwright at New Dramatists becomes the artistic director of his or her own seven-year long new play laboratory. Our writers program over 125 events in the building, collaborate with more than 500 artists, and attract a public audience of 4,000 visitors every year.

Who Can Apply?
• Playwrights living in New York City and the surrounding tri-state area;
• Playwrights outside the tri-state area who are able to demonstrate the ability to spend time in New York City, the desire to utilize New Dramatists’ services, and the readiness to participate in a dynamic artistic community
