Katya Stanislavskaya, composer

Rose Williams conjures up her brother Tennessee, who she calls Tom, to visit her one last time after his death. Time travels back to the first visit he paid her in the asylum when they were both still in their twenties until Tom's last visit, the one Rose keeps for him after his death.

It is a love story between a brother and sister who want the best for each other as they fear the hurt and madness living in the other.

A full length musical for two actors with no intermission.

A final sing-through of all twenty-five pieces generated over the course of the Composer-Librettist Studio will be presented.

Space is limited. For reservations please call 212-757-6960.

The New Dramatists Composer-Librettist Studio, presented in cooperation with Nautilus Music Theater, is designed to provide an opportunity for five writers and five composers to work with professional performers, exploring the possibilities and basic elements of music-theater. The studio focuses on the process of collaboration through a series of brief exploratory assignments for the writers and composers.  Read More

Pairing five New Dramatists playwrights with five composers from a variety of musical and stylistic backgrounds, this nearly round-the-clock workshop sparks early-stage collaborations. During the two-week studio, facilitated by Ben Krywosz and music director Roger Ames, an ensemble of five singer/actors support the participants as they develop overnight responses to five songwriting assignments.
