Oya’s ascent into adulthood is charted with In The Red And Brown Water. She experiences young love, heartbreak, and the loneliness of the world around her. Heavily influenced by Lorca’s Yerma and the Yoruba stories, the piece is set in present day San Pere, Louisiana.
