2017 Composer-Librettist Studio Application Window Now Open for Composers

October 31, 2016

New Dramatists is now accepting submissions from composers only for the Composer-Librettist Studio to be held at New Dramatists beginning Wednesday, January 18 and ending Friday, February 3, 2017.

The Composer-Librettist Studio is presented in cooperation with Nautilus Music-Theater, and is designed to provide an opportunity for five New Dramatists writers and five composers to work with professional performers, exploring the possibilities and basic elements of music-theater. The studio is co-directed by Ben Krywosz (Artistic Director of Nautilus Music-Theater) and music director Roger Ames. This program is intended primarily for composers who have professional experience. Applications from graduate students may be considered in rare circumstances, but it is unlikely that undergraduate students will be considered. Please note that the Studio is a full-time commitment. For the days worked you’d be considered a W-2 Employee of New Dramatists. The pay on offer for your participation is $900 gross wages minus applicable Federal (including Social Security and Medicare), State and City taxes. We must pay you directly, and cannot make payment to a Corporation.

Our application process will be paperless this year, please go to:

All applications must be submitted by 5:00pm EST on Monday, November 14, 2016.
