Susan Mosakowski is a playwright, director, and Co-Artistic Director of Creation Production Company, an interdisciplinary theatre company in New York City, www.creationproduction.org. Her plays include: WHITE/BLACK (Baltimore Theatre Project, The Kunstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin), ICE STATION ZEBRA, THE BRIDE AND HER EXTRA-RAPID EXPOSURE (Minneapolis Institute of Art), THE ROTARY NOTARY AND HIS HOT PLATE, in collaboration with architects Diller + Scofidio, commissioned by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, CITIES OUT OF PRINT (Manhattan Theatre Club), THE TIGHT FIT and LOCOFOCO for the Padua Hills Playwright’s Festival, HARRY AND THE CANNIBALS (La Mama), NIGHTTOWN (The Flea), THIRD RAIL QUILL, commissioned by The Working Theater, MAN-MADE (Ohio Theatre), and others. THE TIGHT FIT and CITIES OUT OF PRINT are published in the Padua anthologies: Best of the West, and Padua: Plays from the Padua Hill Playwrights Festival. Her awards include a Rockefeller Foundation Playwriting Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts Playwriting Fellowship, three Northwest Area Fellowships, a J.M. Kaplan Foundation grant, numerous NYSCA grants, and a 2008 grant from The Artist Fund of the New York Foundation for the Arts. In addition to her work in the theatre, she is Director of The New York Public Library’s Audio Book Studio where she produces talking books for the blind. She holds an M.F.A. from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, an M.A. from NYU’s GSOAS, and a M.S. from Pratt Institute. |
