Bernhard - A refugee's journey

A dark and serious comedy. In a war-torn world, a refugee, age 20, tries to find his mother whom he hasn't seen in years. His terrifying, and often hilarious, path leads him places he never expected. Inspired by the world of today and yesterday, and by the harrowing adolescence of Austrian writer Thomas Bernhard.

Cast Requirements

Can be as little as 5 people or as many as you want. A diverse cast is most appropriate. Gender of characters is set but gender of actors playing them is fluid. Age of actors is bendable as well. Musically-inclined actors are a bonus as they will supply the (under)score with instruments and voices.

Set Description

Simple, transformative (a ladder is a tree, a bench is a cot).
