Craft & Career Intensive with Kara Lee Corthron
Hey playwrights, you’ve probably heard of NaNoWriMo† by now. But how about applying that spirit to playwriting? Join my November intensive, an abbreviated version of a class I’ve taught before, and spend a weekend writing and rewriting, lather, rinse, repeat. We will generate pages of new material from exercises, writing directives, and various sources of inspiration such as memory, objects, and schools of thought. You will learn rewriting techniques and games and methods of funneling outside feedback through your creative brain. You will receive a full playwriting boot camp in one weekend.
And then! We’ll return the following Saturday and talk about turning your sizzling hot craft into a career complete with actionable goals, a better sense of your professional community and how to navigate it, when to submit your work, when/how to generate your own opportunities, and how to leave a lasting impact on the field.
And!! There will be snacks!
