The Securely Conferred, Vouchsafed Keepsakes of Maery S. redraws the figure of Mary Shelley into as many versions as there are definitions of the term Gothic. Abducted by her own monstrous creation, she somehow ends up in modern-day dystopian America, on the open Interstate. The Monster is perceived, in sightings at roadside truck stops and rest areas, as the legendary Sasquatch. Pursued by the ghost of her late husband Percy (now a wandering, leaky sea creature), Maery (she adds the extra 'e' while in debtor's prison) falls in love with her Monster, only to see it imprisoned by charitable funding.

This project received the Frederick R. Loewe Award in Music-Theatre, supported by a generous grant from the Frederick R. Loewe Foundation.
