Confronted with a crisis at home, an embattled couple takes refuge in the desert, where they meet a young woman studying the impact of climate change on the endangered Joshua tree. The world is heating up, buried conflicts surface and unspool, and what does it mean to survive in the face of annihilation? This reading is part of a 4-day investigation supported by the Jerry A. Tishman Playwrights Creativity Fund.

The Jerry A. Tishman Playwrights Creativity Fund supports 3-5 day playwright-driven projects. The Fund is sustained in perpetuity by the Jerry A. Tishman Living Trust, with current support from the Scherman Foundation's Katharine S. & Axel Rosin Fund and the Time Warner Foundation. It was established in 2008 by a lead grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
