Full Stage USA: Sibyl Kempson

Sep 30 2013 (All day) -- Oct 6 2013 (All day)

Pile of Pigs
by Sibyl Kempson
directed by Elena Araoz

Pile of Pigs is a collaboration between Austin-based theater companies Rude Mechs and Salvage Vanguard Theater, and a New Dramatists resident playwright. The group has gathered four times a year for three years in a chaotic work format known as a Pig Pile, with little discernible leadership or centralized structure - neither of narrative nor of process – and has assembled an unwieldy and highly associative collection of seemingly unrelated imagery, geography and aromas, that over time and layers of work has revealed an emerging, intimately connected web of enfolded and implicate mythology.

The working portion of this Full Stage USA project is closed. There will be a public presentation of the work in progress on Monday, October 7.

This Full Stage USA project was commissioned by a consortium of Austin, TX-based theaters, and made possible by a generous grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
