Emma D. Stanton

Emma D. Stanton is a Chicago and New York theater artist. Her plays include Bojko and the Glacier, Jitterbug, Bountiful Planets, and No Candy. She has worked with such companies as Walkabout Theater Company, Oracle Theater, American Theater Company, Steppenwolf Theater Company, Victory Gardens Theater, About Face Theatre, Redmoon Theater, Double Edge Theater, En Garde Arts, and Roundabout Theatre. She was a recipient of a Civics and Arts Foundation Playwriting Award for Emerging Artists in Chicago, a finalist for the 2016 Susan Glaspell Award, selected as a winner of the Columbia/Roundabout Underground Reading Series, and the recipient of the 2016 Jane Chambers Award for her play No Candy. Emma is the Associate Artistic Director of Walkabout Theater in Chicago. BA: Boston College; MFA: Columbia University.

  • Princess Grace Award Fellowship

    Princess Grace Award Fellowship

    The Princess Grace Award in Playwriting was created by the Princess Grace Foundation-USA in 1994 to seek out and support exceptional, emerging American playwrights. The Award provides the winning writer with a year-long residency at New Dramatists, a $7,500 stipend, and a publication opportunity with Samuel French.
