2012 -- 2014Charise Castro Smith is a playwright and actress from Miami. Her full length plays include: Estrella Cruz [The Junkyard Queen] (Ars Nova ANT Fest/ Yale Cabaret), The Hunchback of Seville (Studio 42/ New Georges) and the world premier of Boomcracklefly (The Miracle Theater Portland, OR). She has acted at The Public Theater, The Guthrie, New Georges and The Flea as well as on TV's 'The Good Wife', 'Body of Proof' and 'Unforgettable'. She has contributed to the Brooklyn Rail, is a member of New George’s The JAM for emerging playwrights and directors, and is a Van Lier Fellow at New Dramatists. She holds an MFA from the Yale School of Drama and a BA from Brown University.
