Matthew Paul Olmos has been selected by the Sundance Institute as one of seven artists for its 2013 Playwrights Retreat at Ucross Foundation in February; other artists invited are Radha Blank, Fernanda Coppel, Joy Harjo, Michael John LaChiusa, Justin Levine, Stephen Wadsworth. Matthew Paul Olmos will workshop and have public readings of his play SO GO THE GHOSTS OF MÉXICO at Duke University the first week of November. It is being directed by Jonathan Cullen and features Flor De Liz Perez. The week long process will also include a panel event on the topic of the U.S./Mexico border and the drug wars.
Matthew Paul Olmos’ I PUT THE FEAR OF MÉXICO IN’EM is receiving its world premiere at Theatre with a View (Teatro Vista) in Chicago from November 4 – December 9 at Chicago Dramatists; directed by newly appointed Artistic Director Ricardo Gutierrez. For more information: teatrovista.org.
