Impact

New Dramatists’ impact on the field is strikingly evident over our six-decade history. From the list of award-winning writers and projects, to August Wilson drafting Joe Turner’s Come and Gone during his commuting stayovers in 7th Heaven, New Dramatists has enriched the field immeasurably with its blend of personal and professional support for resident playwrights.

New Dramatists makes a long-term investment in each writer invited into an artistic residency: seven years, of space, time, community, and resources. Our measurement of impact and outcomes, also takes a nuanced, long-range view.
